Meet the Family

Here are the hearts behind Palms & Paws

Dr. Jeffrey Nemoy is a California veterinarian and attorney. Dr. Nemoy is the founder and Chief Executive Officer for the Palms & Paws brand and companies. Dr. Nemoy practiced small animal internal medicine and surgery and co-authored a textbook on veterinary business management.

Dr. Nemoy has created 60 companies with the sole purpose of valuing and adding value to others. Dr. Nemoy has been a student of leadership for the past 35 years. Dr. Nemoy’s core leadership style is others-oriented leadership and principle-centered leadership. Dr. Nemoy’s purpose is to advance the lives of people and pets to make the world better.

Dr. Nemoy met his wife Kim when they were 14 years old, and they have been best friends ever since. They raised twin boys, Will and Max, and the family has enjoyed their furry pets throughout the years, including adopting their cat, Tuxedo Nemoy, from the Santa Monica Animal Shelter. He loves nightly walks with Kim in their Santa Monica community. His passions are family and friends, reading, writing, and walking on the Santa Monica beach. Jeffrey and Kim love volunteering at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter, caring for the animals.

This is Tux’s world—we’re just lucky to live in it.

Tuxedo (aka Tux) is our resident philosopher, strategist, and undisputed keeper of the vibe. As Chief Feline Officer, and familial advisor to Dr. Nemoy, Tux oversees intuition, mystery, and high-level purring initiatives. He keeps us on our toes, watching everything with calculated calm and quiet conviction. When Tux meows, he means business. When he purrs, the entire room softens.

Tux doesn’t do chaos—he refines it. With an eye for elegance and an instinct for efficiency, he reminds us daily that rest is productive, silence is powerful, and trust must be earned. His favorite leadership tactic? The slow blink. It means, “I see you. I trust you. You may proceed.”

Yes, he’s always watching. And yes, we answer to him.

At the age of 7, his love of animals and people alike led him to the decision that he was going to become a veterinarian— he has never changed his mind.

After completing dual majors at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Kevin went on to earn his doctorate in veterinary medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Following graduation, Kevin completed a competitive internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center. Following the rotating internship, Dr. McEvilly stayed on to train subsequent classes of interns before following his passion into primary care.

Growth and innovation are constant drives to advance the quality of medicine and patient and pet parent experiences alike. In addition to providing optimal veterinary care and experiences, Kevin seeks to bring
the best out in others, and help them realize their true potential. Leadership development through an others-oriented approach is central to his operating style – investing in others is how we change the
world. Mentoring interns and veterinary students, and seeing them grow has been a great source of joy. All of this gets to be tried and tested at through the Palms & Paws family. Beyond the stethoscope, he is
passionate about time with his beautiful wife, incredible family and lifelong friends. He remains animal-obsessed, community-focused, and blends love of animals and people with exploring new places and cultures with his favorite people.

With a résumé that includes 10,000+ successful greetings, zero bad moods, and a tail that doubles as a metronome for morale, Charlie is the heart-forward leader we all aspire to be. As Chief Canine Officer, and Dr. McEvilly’s formative canine companion, Charlie dutifully upholds joy quotas, regulates hallway zoomies, and reminds the entire team why we do what we do.

Charlie brings unwavering loyalty, intuitive emotional intelligence, and a nose for what’s possible. His leadership style? Others-oriented. His strategy? Love first, snack second… unless it’s obviously snack first, then even more love (and hopefully more snacks.)

He’s our role model. And yes—belly rubs are acceptable currency.

Clara Pelton knows what it takes to thrive in veterinary medicine because she’s lived every side of it. From her early days as a Registered Veterinary Technician to managing emergency, specialty, and general practices, Clara has seen firsthand the challenges and the opportunities that shape our industry.

Her journey led her to a powerful realization: to change the trajectory of veterinary medicine, we must first invest in the people who lead it. Today, as the manager of Palms & Paws Veterinary Center and as a certified leadership coach and consultant, Clara empowers the Palms & Paws Veterinary Team as well as other veterinary leaders to build healthier systems, create positive workplace cultures, and lead with confidence and purpose.

Through Palms and Paws, she partners with veterinary leaders to turn chaos into clarity, stress into strategy, and burnout into purpose. Clara believes that when leaders grow, their impact ripples through every corner of the practice — transforming teams, elevating patient care, and shaping a stronger, more sustainable future for veterinary medicine.

Greta Rose Pharr is a brand and business strategist with over 25 years of experience building mission-aligned brands that make the world a better place. From global campaigns to intimate rebrands, Greta guides teams toward clarity in messaging, elegance in systems, and purpose in growth.

Her approach integrates storytelling, systems thinking, and strategic design—blending creativity with operational insight to create meaningful, measurable impact. She is honored to join the Palms & Paws family in shaping a brand rooted in empathy, leadership, and love.

In a twist of beautiful fate, one of Greta’s four beloved rescue dogs—Rosemary Bloominklotz the 3rd—was adopted from the Santa Monica Animal Shelter, just across the street from the Palms & Paws Veterinary Center. Years later, her work brings her right back to that corner of the world, honoring a full-circle journey with Rosemary, Cleopatra Jones, Spanky Doodles, and Macy Grey.

Nyasha is a Veterinary Assistant, Shift Lead, social media content creator, and is a part of our Leadership Team at Palms & Paws Veterinary Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she gained hands-on experience working with livestock, including cows, horses, and pigs. With over three years of experience in veterinary medicine, she brings strong clinical skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

She is actively preparing to apply to veterinary school, with long-term goals of working with exotic wildlife, particularly African species such as elephants and lions. She hopes to one day collaborate with rescue organizations in Africa to help treat injured and poached animals.

One of her favorite parts about working at Palms & Paws Veterinary Center is the opportunity to visit the Santa Monica Animal Shelter, where she helps provide medical treatments and offers a little extra TLC to the animals in need. Outside of work, she enjoys music, dancing and can often be found showcasing her passion for fashion.

Karl Soderbergh is a real estate and operations professional with over 11 years of experience in the industry. Karl oversees entitlements, development, construction, and management for Palms & Paws Real Estate. Karl received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola University New Orleans, holds a California Real Estate Salesperson license, and is also a licensed General Contractor.

Karl and his wife are both animal lovers and are the proud parents of 5-year old English Bulldog named Tayto (short for Potato) and a 14-year old Terrier mix named Eleanor. Karl is an avid practitioner and instructor of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, having been practicing the martial art for close to 25 years. In addition to martial arts, he also enjoys mountain biking, hiking and spending time with his growing family.

Palms & Paws, LLC

Palms & Paws Ventures, LLC

The heart of our brand and the soul of our growth—inspiring innovation, leadership, and expansion so we can continue raising and redefining the standard in people care, pet care, and community.

Every location is an extension of our number one core value—Others-Oriented (people-centric and pet-centric)—soothing, welcoming, and built to support those who walk through our doors on four legs or two.

At our Leadership Center, we created an original program to empower veterinarians and veterinary professionals to lead with purpose, passion, strengths, and values—to achieve consistent, exceptional results for all involved.

We also help team members build leadership skills in relationship building, embracing mistakes and failures as part of growth, developing positive personal and organizational habits, giving and receiving feedback, resolving conflicts, showing vulnerability, collaborating, asking powerful questions, prioritizing what matters, and communicating candidly with care.

We intentionally help our team members grow personally and professionally—because this is how we best care for people and pets.
